Two chefs Bar & Grill

Two of Phuket’s most famous and enduring restaurants are the unmissable Two Chef’s outlets, each located close to the beaches in Kata and Karon.

Established in 2000 by their two Swedish chef owners, they have attained a well-deserved reputation for delicious family-friendly food, at reasonable prices, served by attentive staff in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

As their slogan so rightly states: “Come for the food. Stay for the fun!”

The original Kata Beach outlet was warm and welcoming when we arrived on Saturday evening, with their singer/guitarist setting up to serenade the evening away.

We were seated overlooking the happy throng of Kata, as we enjoyed classic cocktails from their extensive selection, while pondering the wide and impressive choice of European, Tex-Mexican and Thai dishes.

All the classic dishes are well catered for, from healthy salads, ceviche, capriccio and lobster bisque starters; through hearty and professionally-cooked meats, seafoods and fish, pastas and vegetables, plus Mexican and Thai dishes.

I loved my healthy grilled salmon, avocado, mushroom and mixed greens salad starter, while my Thai wife made short work of lime-drenched mixed seafood ceviche!

We relaxed enjoying a brace of fine grape-based drinks, available from a goodly selection by glass or bottle, then in no time, our mains were upon us!

I stuck to healthy-eating with delicious Norwegian salmon rigatoni, while my wife dove headfirst into perfectly-grilled, steak and prawns Surf and Turf with all the trimmings!

After kicking back and enjoying the happy buzz of music, friendly chatter and laughter, we then surprised ourselves by still being able to find the luscious desserts too tempting to miss.

Hence, a combination of dark chocolate and matcha truffles, ice cream and Basque cheesecake with whipped cream and fresh fruit, plus steaming aromatic coffees, kept us lingering long into the tropical night! 

Regular weekly specials abound, such as all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesdays, Surf and Turf Wednesdays and Friday Ribs, all offering great value. There’s also a special Kiddies menu and Happy Hour drinks pricing from 11am until 5pm every day!

It’s not surprising that Two Chefs has a huge and loyal following of both Phuket residents and overseas visitors, as all this abundance of great food and bonhomie are most reasonably priced.
