A hip, wellness-inspired café, Solavita promises to “Nourish with Nature” while serving a range of every day favourites designed to help customers recharge, refuel and leave feeling their very best.
The carefully curated menu consists of simple, honest food made from the very best ingredients including homemade breads, dressings and sauces. Expect nourishing bowls, heaping salads, artisan pizzas, fresh juices, speciality coffee drinks and absolutely delicious smoothies – all vegan-friendly. The café truly offers something for all appetites in the form of a handful of signature dishes and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
The café was bustling when we arrived for lunch, but the staff were all smiles and promptly showed us to a table. We studied the menu quickly and decided to order a variety of dishes to really understand the entire Solavita experience.
Our lunch started with all-day fuel in the form of Mediterranean Shakshuka made with two free-range eggs baked in a rich, tangy tomato sauce with Moroccan chickpeas and crumbled feta. Served with toasted homemade sourdough, the dish was savoury, warmly spiced and absolutely delicious – comfort food at its finest. Recommended by the wait staff, we also tried the Smoky Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich on toasted sourdough. Loaded with homemade, pickled red cabbage, aged cheddar and slathered in Sriracha mayo, the massive sandwich was full of intense flavours. Honestly, it’s one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time.
The vegan Zen Buddha Bowl was a surprise for the taste buds. Featuring roasted sweet potato, broccoli, shredded carrots, homemade pickled cabbage, avocado, chickpeas and toasted peanuts over a bed of red Riceberry with a creamy peanut dressing, this healthy option was divine; so many fresh ingredients, crunchy textures and vibrant flavours in every bite.
Next up, we shared the Nordic Smoked Salmon & Tzatziki Tartine. Fresh, melt-in-your-mouth smoked salmon with cucumber, capers and rocket on the café’s homemade toasted sourdough, this tartine was light and refreshing. For something essentially so simple, the flavours were entirely scrumptious and satisfying.
We rounded out our lunch with an artisan pizza. All of the pizzas at Solavita are crafted using an ancient Roman recipe of slow fermentation to create a lighter, crispier and more digestible crust. We chose the signature Burrata & Prosciutto di Parma. The pizza was loaded with Parma ham, mozzarella, tomato, rocket and a massive dollop of Burrata. The pizza’s crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings made for the perfect Italian combination.
This was not the first time that I had dined at Solavita, and it will not be the last. The café is honestly impressive, the food top-notch, and the wait staff all kind and helpful. Solavita is a great addition to Phuket’s Ko Kaeo neighbourhood.
Located inside the Royal Phuket Marina, Solavita is open daily from 8AM-6PM. There is plenty of parking on-site and, while making a reservation is not necessary, if you plan on dining at the café with a big group, it is best to call ahead.
