The Siamese fighting fish (betta fish) is native to the Mekong basin and mostly found in the Chao Phraya River in Thailand. This charismatic creature caught the world’s attention when Visarute’s dynamic portrait series went viral and saw his flamboyant subjects splashed across packaging of several products. His exhibition in collaboration with Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas will showcase total of 20 photos of betta fish, giving visitors a chance to admire the striking coloured varieties of this Thai icon. Alongside the exhibition, Anantara will launch a variety of fighting fish-inspired activities and promotions across its Rajadamri and Riverside properties.
The lobby of Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas will be adorned with the colourful photographic hues of the Siamese fighting fish accompanied by a vivid floral decoration at the display area. Merchandise at the exhibition also includes the photographer’s original collection, Betta Paradiso, in photo book form, as well as a limited edition fighting fish scarf designed by M.L. Chiratorn Chirapravati. It will be display in front of the Gallery shop.
The launch of The Beauty of Siam: Anantara Siamese Fighting Fish photography exhibition is hosted at the Michelin Plate restaurant, La Sala at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas on 13th December 2019, from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. The gallery will be on display from 7th to 16th December 2019.
