Twilight Sky

With an outstanding rooftop location overlooking Kata Beach, the al fresco Twilight Sky restaurant offers up a prime spot for magical sunsets and a wonderful menu of Thai and international cuisine.

The weather is perfect the night we dine at Twilight Sky. We arrive in time to catch the sunset, and are greeted by big smiles from the helpful staff. We are shown to our table straightaway and presented the menu. We decide on loaded, Mexican-style Nachos, Khao Ob Suparod and the Aussie Beef Lover hot stone complemented by tropical, signature drinks.

The Nachos are the perfect start to the meal. Loaded with fresh salsa and cheese, they are devoured quickly before the mains arrive. The Thai dish, Khao Ob Suparod, is outstanding. The dish consists of fried rice with fresh prawns, ham and raisins seasoned with fragrant curry powder and served in a pineapple. It’s a classic Thai dish and ours was executed perfectly. I hadn’t eaten this particular dish in a very long time, and was so pleased with its flavours.

The Aussie Beef Lover hot stone was interesting. Essentially, it’s a 200g Australian Beef Sirloin served with roasted potatoes and a trio of sauces. As the steak self-cooks on the hot stone, its doneness is entirely up to the guest. We sliced ours when it was cooked to medium, and enjoyed it with the creamy peppercorn sauce.

Twilight Sky has one of the best rooftop locations in the neighbourhood. Located at The SIS Kata resort, it’s a great place to gather with friends or treat your loved one to a romantic date. While our three dishes were tasty, we barely scratched the surface of the menu. It really has something for everyone including pasta and pizza, burgers and wraps, handcrafted soups and salads, as well as an extensive choice of local Thai cuisine.

The restaurant is open daily from 5pm-10:30pm. Parking is available on-site, and reservations are encouraged.
