Seagull at Southbeach & Rice Bar & Bowl

With an idyllic beachfront location at HOMM Bliss Southbeach Patong Hotel, Seagull at South Beach and Rice Bar and Bowl serve up an array of authentic Asian favourites perfect to grab and go before hitting the beach.

Located in the hotel’s lobby, Seagull is a cozy café offering up a variety of delicious bites including BBQ Pork Sliders on butter soft rolls with classic condiments, Fish and Chips, All Day Breakfast and a selection of local flavours, such as Pad Thai and Som Tam (papaya salad) with Grilled Chicken.

The all-day dining venue, Rice Bar and Bowl, specialises in Asian cuisine and the menu includes dishes from Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and Vietnam. The restaurant has an al fresco terrace overlooking Patong Beach, which gives the entire dining experience a tropical twist.

The day we visited Seagull at South Beach and Rice Bar and Bowl, we came with hungry tummies and were not disappointed. We dined on the Weekend Dim Sum Buffet which, honestly, has to be Phuket’s best secret! There are 20 dim sum varieties prepared in Hong Kong-style made fresh by the hotel’s Chinese chef.

The two-hour affair offers up free flow dim sum, coffee, tea and herbal drinks for an affordable THB 450 net per person. The dim sum is so melt-in-your-mouth delicious that even when my dining partner and I were completely stuffed, we kept going back for more!

At Rice Bar and Bowl, we were tempted to devour the entire menu, but we decided on two dishes to share. Beef Bulgogi, Korean-style wok-fried beef with onion and leek sauce, and Pad Thai with chicken. Both dishes were extremely flavourful with authentic Asian tastes, and the massive portions easily shared. Rice Bar and Bowl is a quaint spot, and it would be the perfect place for a casual, intimate dinner of Asian favourites while the sun sets.

Dining at Seagull at South Beach and Rice Bar and Bowl is a pleasant, tasty experience. Both the café and all-day dining venue offer up delicious fare at affordable prices. These places are true hidden gems in Patong, and well worth checking out when you’re in the neighborhood. Note that parking is available on-site.
