www.metadeephuket.comLocated in the Metadee Elite Resort near Kata Beach, Moon Terrace Rooftop Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant & lounge serving coastal Mediterranean cuisine. With an al fresco terrace and air-conditioned dining space, the rooftop restaurant is contemporary, elegant and extremely romantic.
The restaurant’s menu ticks all of the boxes for an enjoyable dining experience. There’s a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, pastas and risottos, plus selections from the land and sea as well as desserts. Signature adult beverages, global wines, craft brews, fresh juices, smoothies and coffee concoctions are also available.
The day we dined at Moon Terrace Rooftop Restaurant, we started the evening on the al fresco terrace with drinks to view the sunset, and then moved inside for our meal. Both the service and the food at the restaurant do not disappoint.
We ordered the Grand Mixed Appetizers – a platter of gourmet salamis and cheese, Parma ham, melon, Cerignola and Taggiasche olives, and Mozzarella pearls. This appetizer was completely indulgent and wonderfully satisfying. Much to my surprise, it also contained artichokes, which was a nice touch.
Next up was the Porcini Mushrooms. Italian porcini, salsiccia, cream, truffle salsa and Scarmorza cheese smothering fresh tagliatelle pasta. The dish was perfection; rich, creamy and decadent. The flavour combinations worked really well, and the truffle salsa complemented the dish without overpowering it.
We continued to graze and decided to share the Beef Rib-Eye Steak, a Black Angus rib-eye served with rosemary potatoes, rocket salad, aged balsamic vinegar and a trio of salts. The steak was tender and juicy and definitely had the melt-in-your-mouth effect.
We were entirely too full to partake of dessert, unfortunately, but we decided to save that for the next visit!
Personally, I was really impressed by the décor of the dining space and I think it’s worth mentioning. The interiors are inspired by the space between the sky and the sea, kissed by moonlight. Think hues of blue and touches of gold with a gorgeous constellation painted on the ceiling. The restaurant is Instagram-worthy, but also charming. If you’re looking to impress your better half, Moon Terrace Rooftop Restaurant is the place.
Moon Terrace Rooftop Restaurant is open daily and reservations are highly recommended. Note that parking is available on-site.
