Located in the Thanyapura Health & Sports Resort, DiVine Restaurant is an award-winning all day dining restaurant with a focus on healthy and organic foods to fuel even the fussiest of appetites. The modern, spacious restaurant overlooks an Olympic-sized swimming pool and is nestled within mountain foothills.
DiVine is a truly special dining experience. The restaurant specialises in food that is creative, healthy and absolutely delicious. DiVine features two separate a la carte menus. Both offer outstanding Thai and international dishes, with one featuring a grand selection of mouth-watering vegan specialities.
As soon as we are seated, I dig into the vegan menu. While I am not a vegan, I do appreciate vegan food, and I was extremely curious to see what DiVine had to offer. I make my choices quickly and order Black Bean Chili ‘Non’ Carne Taco with Vegan Cheddar Cheese and Avocado Ceviche along with choices from the main menu of Avocado, Mango & Indian Pomegranate Salad and a meat dish, Miso Wagyu Beef Steak, for good measure. While we wait for our food, we chat to the interesting Director of Culinary Development, Jamie Raftery, who relays his story of moving from Michelin star restaurants to become the Holistic Chef. We sip on tart shots of fresh ginger and delicious juices as the food arrives.
The presentation is outstanding. Colourful and well plated, the dishes look almost too good to eat. But hunger gets the best of us and we tuck in immediately. The food is incredible! Full of flavour, and varied textures, filling but extremely light. The taco is so good; this vegan take on a Mexican favourite really impresses me. In fact, all the dishes stand out and I am instantly a massive fan of this restaurant.
We end the evening with a wonderful selection of vegan desserts, which include a Vegan Banana Split, a Raw Cacao Cheesecake and a Raw Mango Cheesecake. Each of the desserts has a unique presentation and is luscious. The coconut and banana ice cream that make up the banana split are sticky and sweet while the ‘cheesecake’ features chocolate rice milk ice cream. So delicious and my favourite – fresh local mango with coconut and lime, served with lemongrass ice cream.
