Café Studio

Located in front of Karon Beach, on the same grounds as Paradox Residence Phuket, Café Studio is a charming cafe with a warm atmosphere, friendly staff, an outstanding menu and a large variety of signature and classic coffees.

It’s always fun to discover a great new spot on the island, and Café Studio ticks all the boxes. Both my dining partner and I were excited to hang out at the café and have lunch there.

Our dining experience begins with a drink recommendation known as Coconut Specials – I order a Coconut Thai Tea and my lunch partner orders a Coconut Matcha. Both drinks are really delicious, and a creative tropical take on classic drinks.

After perusing the menu, we waste no time tucking into one of my all-time favourites, a perfectly constructed Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich. The croissant is flaky and buttery, piled high with honey ham, cheddar cheese and topped with a tangy cocktail sauce. It’s absolutely delicious, and due to its ample size, ideal for sharing.

As soon as we’re finishing up our sandwich, the remainder of the dishes we ordered arrive, and they do not disappoint. Both my lunch partner and I love a good salad, and the Pumpkin Rocket Salad with Mixed Nuts is gorgeous to look at – and tastes even better. Loaded with roasted pumpkin, wild rocket, mixed lettuce, sunflower seeds, almonds, cashew nuts, pumpkin seeds and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette, it’s a tasty and healthy salad done right.

We round out our meal with a homemade Chicken & Mushroom Pie. The pie pastry is light and crispy, and the savoury filling is as delicious as it is comforting. Again, the portion size is quite big, so this dish can easily be shared. I’m a huge fan of savoury pies, and while the cafe has a daily rotation of pies, there’s also a long list on the menu that can be ordered in advance; the list includes classic favourites like Cherry Pie and Pumpkin Pie.

For dessert, we decide on the signature Apple Mousse. The design of the dessert is clever; it actually looks like an apple but, when you slice into it, you’re treated to a fluffy mousse and fresh apple filling. It’s a delightful dessert and a great way to end a wonderful food experience at Café Studio.

Truly, I’m impressed by this café. The menu has everything: from breakfast plates, to fresh salads; from smoothie bowls to freshly baked breads; and puffs, pies, quiches, cakes, tarts and cheesecakes. If you are spending time at Karon Beach, the café is a great spot to have lunch or grab a few items for takeaway.

Café Studio is open daily from 8am-6pm and there is plenty of parking on-site.
