Hung Fat's

A trendy setting and the authentic flavours of Sichuan have come to Thailand for the very first time! Hung Fat’s is a high class act that is the newest addition to the Baan Rim Pa group of restaurants, establishments which offer some of the finest dining with tantalizing cuisines at their beachfront locations in Kalim.

This two-storey bar and restaurant with its open front facing the beach is a distinguishing landscape feature with an unparalleled and unique décor and architectural design that communicates sophistication and friendliness. Pieces of recycled timber lining the interior and the arching roof with its steel trusses encompass the open plan of the establishment while red lanterns and furniture serve to remind you of the Chinese theme.

The team of six chefs were brought specifically from Chengdu to provide Hung Fat’s its exquisite dishes. Each is a specialist in a different aspect of Sichuan cuisine, and have worked alongside each other in Sichuan and Shanghai for 10 years. Together with raw ingredients shipped from Chengdu, quality and flavour reflect the genuine spirit of Sichuan cuisine.

Hung Fat’s offers a visual and interactive approach to dining with chopsticks being the utensils of preference. Featured items on the broad menu include the Prawn Cake, a fried prawn ball filled with vegetables and soup. Pierce the ball, drink the soup and indulge in the goodness with some special sauce! Also to be savoured are the Sautéed Prawns in spicy ginger sauce and the Chengdu-style wok-fried spiced pork slices with fresh garlic and fresh Sichuan buns – a do-it-yourself rollup sandwich that participates in the medley of superb tastes. Appealing to the eyes as well as the taste is the Live Grouper in Sichuan sauce, coated in a delightful yet subtly spiced sauce. The Eggplant in spicy garlic and chili sauce adds a delightful vegetarian complement to the meal.

The Baan Rim Pa Group is well noted for their selection of wines having won several distinctions – the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence – for many years in succession. Hung Fat’s is on its way to the noteworthy list. A welcome addition to the top class act of flavours is the Anakena Rapel Valley, a sauvignon blanc from Chile.

Hung Fat’s offers a sophistication in setting, cuisine, wine and ambience – a distinct addition to the Phuket dining experience.
