Where to Eat in Phuket
Babylon Beach Club
Without a doubt, history shapes modern culture. With the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, of which the Hanging Gardens of Babylon is one, the classical antiquity of the past lives on in the present day. Now Phuket is enriched with its own modern wonder, a beachside Babylon on Bang Tao Beach.

Idyllic in its location, Babylon Beach Club enjoys not only an unsurpassed view of the Andaman Sea but also serves a selection of first rate cocktails with which to enjoy the array of dazzling colours that the sinking sun delights with. A rustic wooden frame and furniture set the stage for an evening of relaxation with warm hospitality and good food and, not to mention, a noteworthy occasion.

A sunset cocktail always serves to set the mood for the beginnings of an enjoyable evening. After unwinding with some of these delights, we began dinner with the Babylon Platter, a Thai appetizer consisting of shrimp cakes, satay and spring rolls. Served with both sweet and sour and peanut sauces, this selection offered a welcome introduction of the joys that were to come.

The main course proved to be a welcoming treat of a mix of Thai and International foods and a welcoming combination of tastes and textures. The Tom Yam Gung, a clear soup of a mixture of shrimp, mushrooms, ginger and lemongrass was a refreshing treat on a Thai traditional favourite. Accompanying the soup was a Massaman Gai, a curry of chicken, potatoes and other assorted goodies – also a delicious treat – and to complement the Thai seafood and meat dishes, Pad Pak Ruam, a mix of fried vegetables. The International fare was Penne Gorgonzola – a bowl of superb pasta with sharp cheese and pepper.

To top off our seaside dining experience, we enjoyed coffee and Flambed Bananas. Drenched in honey and served with vanilla ice cream this dessert was a wonderful finish to the seaside meal.

For a charming and delightful beachside meal whether it’s for lunch, dinner, a business drink or a social get together, Babylon Beach Club is a place to try. With a warm ambience, friendly people and an unbeatable location, it’s a place to go. A natural wonder!
