Upon our host’s recommendation, we began with appetizers of French Onion Soup topped with bread and cheese – an authentic recipe of a favourite soup that included the fun of stretching gooey melted cheese from the spoon to the mouth – Asparagus Cream Soup with garlic bread that was rich in flavour with this green vegetable and New Zealand Steamed Mussels with garlic and chili cream sauce – a mildly spicy twist to a seafood favourite.

The main course was of a surf and turf theme that offered further delights. The Grilled Australian Tenderloin Steak topped with a pepper sauce was cooked to medium-rare perfection. Stir-fried vegetables in butter, a baked potato and salad accompanied the meat selection. The Grilled Swordfish Fillet served with herb butter sauce and vegetables was a light and perfect seafood complement to the steak.

With an impressive selection of award-winning wines, the wine list is as intriguing as the food menu. The Cabernet & Merlot “Warburn” Riverina Estate, an Australian red that has won gold medals at several wine shows was a true embellishment.

Sweet and delectable treats are a heavenly way to top off a good meal. The Tiramisu and Crème Custard did not disappoint with melt in the mouth goodness and the rich tastes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla.
