Harrys Steakhouse Review

SOI PATONG TOWER Scandinavian & International Food

A comfortable, cosy environment, an International menu with Scandinavian delights plus the warm hospitality of the friendly staff make for a dining venue that people return to time and time again.

Harry’s Steakhouse at Soi Patong Tower in Patong is one of those hard-to-find treats. A superb dining spot close to the beach yet away from the hustle and bustle of Patong, Harrys delivers satisfaction and value. Outdoor seating and an indoor air-conditioned room that is tastefully decorated and with a publike atmosphere, offer a relaxing and warm setting.

Part of a Swedish franchise and the only one outside of Sweden, Harrys offers Swedish dishes, pizza, pasta, seafood, Mexican, Thai and of course great steaks and ribs – two of their specialties. The kids can also feel special with their own menu.

A delectable menu can often lead to tough decisions so a medley of dishes provides an unbeatable solution to try different flavours and ingredients. The Toast Skagen, prawns and dill mayonnaise served on crispy toast, are a refreshing start to a meal. The Mexican Spring Rolls with taco beef and jalapenos cheese is an enjoyable twist on an Asian classic and the French Onion Soup, a Western favourite, more than pleases the taste.

Several of the main courses are a must try. Superb in their presentation and mouthwatering to the taste buds, the Planked Steak, the Planked Salmon and the Ribs are more than worth the visit. The beef tenderloin with bearnaise sauce, pommes duchess that was served on an oakwood plank was perfectly cooked as was the salmon fried in lemon with mashed potato and hollandaise sauce. And the ribs? Well, the meat that falls off the bone and Harrys’ special sauce is a secret that diners would dearly like to find out!

A good wine and desserts are true complements to any meal. The Alma de Chile, a Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2007, was a superb choice to accompany the various dishes. The Chocolate Mousse with whipping cream and the Apple Pie with homemade custard and vanilla ice cream – sweet and indulgent – top the meal off nicely.

Harrys delivers good food and service in a homey and comfortable atmosphere. It’s no wonder that people keep coming back!
