Spectacular location, amazing food and wine are what bring people back to Da Maurizio’s

Situated on the beachfront at the southern end of Kalim Bay with beautiful open views of the beach, rocks and the reef beyond, it is probably the most romantic setting of any restaurant in Phuket. During the day, the sea falls back to reveal one of the most vibrant near-shore reefs on the island. The small private beach, which has played host to many weddings, stretches south towards the rocky outcrop beneath Baan Rim Pa and north towards the end of Kalim Bay, as the sand gives way to the headland. It’s worth arriving early evening for aperitifs as the sun goes down – the perfect time and place for sunset.

As night falls, music provides an ideal background to the scene of flickering candles, elegantly set tables and mouth-watering aromas emanating from the kitchen. Maurizio himself is usually on hand to recommend newly created specialties accompanied by wine from his vast cellar – winners of the prestigious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Da Maurizio’s and has created a new and exciting contemporary Italian menu to raise the quality to an even higher level than the already multi-award winning one. The tempting array of dishes includes: Pan Roasted Foie Gras with apple-walnut salad, caramelized onion-raisin bread & port wine sauce; Rock Lobster Capellini with pan roasted rock lobster, Phuket scallops, & wilted spinach; Crispy Tasmanian Salmon with Ocean Trout Caviar – Slow roasted tomato & fennel with Saffron Cream; Roasted Chicken Piccata with lemon-caper sauce, asparagus & fresh tarragon tagliatelle; Live Grouper or White Snapper; Pepperoni Arrosto & Black Olive-Orange Tapenade – Filleted & pan roasted or stuffed with fresh herbs & baked in the wood-fired oven. Chef Jared also offers nightly specials made from the freshest local and imported foods along with two specially created tastings menus comprising of several courses where you can sample dishes from his menu.
