Brasserie Phuket Oyster-Wine-Beer Bar
phuket city International/Seafood/Belgian
Oysters, foie gras, steak, french fries and mayonnaise, a Belgian blond and... chocolate beer? That the visual appeal of superbly presented and prepared food plus exotic beverages make for an exceptional dining experience is a well-known fact and when the setting is chic yet casual, the recipe is unsurpassed.
The Brasserie Wine Grill and Oyster Bar is a recently opened place to dine in Phuket City. Elegant yet tasteful décor and soft lighting define a warm and relaxing ambience where delectable delights tempt and tantalize the senses. With its four main areas – an oyster bar, a dining area of white tablecloths and framed prints depicting Belgian and French scenes on the walls, the half circle-shaped bar with its 31 Belgian beers and other beverages, and an informal space of comfortable couches, chairs and low tables to dine and enjoy reading materials – the venue holds an alluring retreat that will please all.
The owner and chef of this Belgian brasserie suggested an array of dishes to try. The Pacific Oysters and the warm tomato soup with a vegetable top served in a shot glass are a superb way to begin while river prawns cooked in a peppery paste and foie gras with an apple topping are a delightful follow.
Chef Alain’s excellence and passion for cooking is further displayed in the fish and meat courses. The moist fish, which is served in foil, was first grilled and then steamed with wine and spices, which bring out the fish’s rich flavours. Panfried in butter, the steak, is cooked to medium rare perfection and is served with french fries and homemade mayonnaise and salad.
Decadent desserts captivate the sweet tooth in all of us and what better sweets to savour are a chocolate mousse and a crème caramel!
Good food is always complemented by good beverages and ‘must haves’ are a Belgian beer and wine of which a Leffe draught and French red wine by the glass are superlative drinks. And after? Indulge in another beer at the bar and dare yourself to try an exotic beer – chocolate, peach, cherry, raspberry...
Outstanding food and drink go hand and hand with a glorious setting and atmosphere. For a taste of such an evening that will keep you coming back, dine at Brasserie and, Bon Appetit!
